This show featuring three of the most popular young designers of India today was an affair of elegance with chic designs, pastel shades and equally stunning accessories.
The show opened with Valliyan by Nitya Arora. Jewellery so colourful yet elegant is seldom seen. The designer accomplished the impossible with her creation where a lot of stonework in pinks, yellows and aquamarine shades were shown. The accessories gave a touch of royalty and was paire with silk and satin drapes of various cuts. A show to remember.
The next designer was Nikhil Thampi– a true genius in his own terms. His creation was a mind-blowing display of white, cream & peach with a classic touch of rose gold embellishments. The designer’s vision with colours broadened as the show continued. He literally played with hues where he combined shades to create lovely Spring appropriate trends. Yellow Ochre and bright Indigos were paired with embellished accessories and cropped jackets. To make it look classier he kept the footwear mostly in nudes and beiges. A clear treat for the eyes.
Then was the time for the very bright Nishka Lulla. The young designer’s work was mainly on earthy shades of light greens & biscuits. Her fabric was mainly sheer chiffon which were beautified by small floral prints. Her colour palette was very pastel in the later half of the show with sky blues, greys and white gold dominating the major portions. The creation was simple but feminine, very wearable and very pretty.
This show was truly a revelation of how these designers are so popular amongst the yound and happening.
