Asmita Marwa’s collection was focused on metal motifs and embellishments. Her innovation surpassed boundaries and turned safety-pin into a thing of beauty. Her designs seen in blue-green checks and colourful prints also extended to more classic silver and creams. The beachwear style typically focused at the Resort look, was dominated by sheer whites with sequin work. There were beautifully done metallic trousers and skirts that was teamed with nude makeup and shining golden flat sandals. The creation was very unique and pleasing to the eyes w showstopper was the celebrity hairstylist Adhuna Akhtar coming in as the showstopper.
Abdul Halder’s creation was again a perfect blend of summary hues that exuded both tranquillity and vibe. Sky blues, Indigo, dusty pinks ruled the charts along with white embroideries and threadwork. The use of sheer fabric like net sarees was seen. The sarees were in beautiful shades of very sunny hues like corals and yellows. The makeup focused on metallic lips and the footwear mainly was black heels.
The Sailex & Payal Singhal show started with much fanfare and enjoyed attention of celebrities like Maria Goretti & Tisca Chopra who took the invitee’s seats and posed for the cameras.
Sailex started his show with shades of white and some sequin detailings. The snake-printed heels looked fabulous with the palette that consisted of sarees with Ombre pallus. Some of the outfits revolved around Grecian drapes and some had long side splits. Lot of tie & dye work was noticed in his designs. Gold beads, zari-bordered sleeves paired with the blackest blacks looked outstanding. Overall the collection had an ethnic flavour with lot of metals.
Celebriy Fashion designer Payal Singhanl’s creations took off with glimpses of monochromes, typically in shades of the eternal black & white. It further started putting some shades of cream with black. Noticeable accessorizations with gold stud earrings was visible. The collection then evolved with various hues, from pastel greys to dusty peach. The later part of the show was mostly with Moroccan Filgree work in silver & gold. Some graphic prints could also be seen.
The creation was inspired by French Moroccan culture that prevailed during the early 1900’s and the fabric used were mostly tulle, silk & linen. Showstopper Neha Dhupia took the stage by storm while accompanying the designer.
The representation of all the designers were novel in their own terms and all played with summary hues in pastels and bold in their own unique way. Overall metallics in all forms stood out as the clear winner as the latest trend of the Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week.
