The Day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week was an ode to Indian Textiles and this could be seen from the Gaurang, Purvi Doshi & Pinnacle’s Show. And there were flock of Small Screen celebrities like Roshni Chopra, Andy & Ramona who took the front rows and posed for the flashes.
Gaurang’s show started with a rainbow of very bright shades of Orange, Turmeric & Burnt Bricks. The creations essentially had a lot of zari-work and hand-woven work. Hues of greens, fuchsia, corals & rich purples ruled along with gold prints in blocks & gota. There were beautiful Anarkali dresses that were paired with golden heels & glossy pouts.
Showstopper Kirron Kher stole the vividly colourful show with her grace & beauty.
Purvi Doshi’s show started with shades of red & rust. There were lot of anarkalis with Islamic art infulnce with threadworks. There were glimpses of small prints and floral work. The major part of the designs were with Phulkari work on basic colours. There were Geometric designs with lot of colour blocking. The vivacious colours that were kept bold on the outfits was muted on the makeup & accessories, with simple braided hairstyle and flats in matte black.
Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti was a beautiful saga of 50’s glamour. It exuded glamour and sophistication at the same time. The colour palette was kept mainly focused on whites and creams with vintage style floral work along with sheer sleeves that had buti-work done. The old age glamour continued with high collared blouses and lace-bordered sarees. The accessorization was quite interesting with nude heels and lovely floral headgears.
Overall this show with the 3 talented designers was an amazing journey of versatility blended with style and use of basic fabrics.
