Abraham & Thakore: Day 3 of WIFW

Abraham & Thakore’s work with silk weaves is stuff legends are made of. It came as no surprise then that they were to be show as Finale for Day 2. The excitement mounted till the last slot when they finally showed. And what a collection it was. The collection was centered around the theme of creating sleek ‘uniform dressing for the city’. The concept of ‘wild silk’ was unknown to me till this collection and it was enlightening to know that muga, tussar and eri are woven from wild silk. These varieties of wild silk have been played with by the legendary designer duo by working with dexterous weavers across the county to create the designs that we saw. The classic geometric pattern and an interesting addition of animal print made for a cool unexpected twist.  Autumn winter creates the ideal platform to wear silk trenches over sarees and belted jackets in this ethereal fabric.ImageImageImage
